John Reynolds (Maynooth University)
John Reynolds 교수는 국제법을 글로벌 사우스의 시선에서 비판적으로 분석하는 TWAIL(Third World approaches to international law) 연구 경향의 대표적인 연구자 중 한 명으로서, 국제법 및 현대 국제질서가 예외를 표방한 초법적 긴급조치권, 인권과 주권의 수사를 매개로 제국/식민주의, 국가폭력과 맺어온 깊은 역사적 관계를 특히 근현대 영제국의 식민통치 위주로 탐구해오고 있습니다. 그는 또한 식민주의, 국가폭력이 법/국제법/인권과 어떻게 결합되는지에 집중하는 접근을 통해, 팔레스타인의 현 상황과 그 역사적 근원, 향후 전망과 투쟁방향에 대해 폭넓게 논의해 온 전문가입니다.
A leading scholar in Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL) and Palestine studies, Dr. Reynolds has written extensively on international law in relation to colonialism, racism/apartheid, emergency, and political economy.
